Account Executive

Job description

Turn a calling into your career. At Deed, we are shaping the future of social good through a combination of tech, design, and culture. Our products help people and companies create positive change by making it easy and fun to give back, while also connecting with others.

Deed’s award-winning social volunteering app is currently being used by tens of thousands of volunteers, helping over 1,000 nonprofit organizations fulfill their mission. Our enterprise platform enables brands to manage, track, analyze, and quantify the social impact of their employees, as well as their participating consumers. We are leading the path-to-purpose with trailblazers like adidas, Stripe, Sweetgreen and Timberland. And that roster is growing, so we are looking for people with big hearts, and big brains, to join our passionate crew.

As our first Account Executive, you will have an opportunity to shape our journey and build the foundation of our sales organization. In this role, you will be a key driver of revenue growth by selling our beautifully designed, cutting edge product into rapidly growing Social Impact/Social Purpose teams at major corporations. Our CEO and business development team have validated the marketplace and product, and we have superb product, marketing, and customer success teams, along with a robust pipeline of socially innovative companies, to further help you monetize this massive opportunity.

In addition, you will be an integral part of our team with the ability to help create, optimize, and implement the ideal sales organization. The perfect candidate for this role is highly motivated, a talented storyteller, and relishes the opportunity to both drive revenue and build a business. A passion for doing good through technology and a love of volunteering would be even more amazing!

What you'll do

  • Own and manage the full sales cycle from prospect to closing
  • Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including customer success, engineering, and product to navigate the full sales cycle
  • Deliver compelling presentations of our product and persuasively tell Deed’s story to a variety of audiences, ranging from social purpose, marketing, and HR to executive level
  • Help build the sales organization by shaping the sales process and team

Job requirements

  • 3-5 years in SaaS sales with a track record of high performance and self-starting initiative
  • Fantastic communication skills (you write amazing emails and give captivating demos)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-growing startup with constant change and a fairly flat hierarchy
  • Interest or experience in creating social impact – our clients are passionate about purpose
  • Bonuses: Previous experience as early salesperson at VC-funded, early stage startups; experience selling into HR or social impact teams.

Why Deed?

  • Salary range: $150,000+ OTE (uncapped commissions)
  • Equity range: Meaningful equity at a venture-funded startup
  • Help us change the world 💪
  • A brand-new, beautiful, and open workspace in the middle of San Francisco
  • Opportunities to work with colleagues and clients around the world (we already have offices in NYC, SF, Berlin)
  • Generous volunteering policy (of course!) and flexible working arrangements
  • Competitive health insurance

Our Team’s Culture & Benefits

At Deed, our ambition is to change the world for the better. Which means that we have high expectations of one another, and ourselves. The work is challenging, fast-paced, and sometimes it extends beyond a 40 hour week. And yet, it works because we always have each other’s backs, and offer the flexibility to make daily choices that ensure we are sound in mind, body, and spirit.

A diverse and inclusive workplace is also an integral part of our culture. We actively welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. From an operational perspective, our benefits include comprehensive health insurance as well as professional development. In order to empower others to do more good, we understand that it begins with us – the people who work at Deed. If you are still enthusiastic after reading this, we’d love to meet and see if we’re right for one another.
